Societal Change in Alibag
Alibag is basically a small town of Raigad district, placed by the side of beautiful Arabian Sea amidst incredible nature. This small town had been an important region during the historic Maratha rule and the legacy is still present in various remnants of the bygone era.

Over years Alibag had always remained a Hit among tourists from all walks of life. Due to its proximity with Mumbai city and also for rapid industrialization, this region has seen rapid urbanization which in turn had uplifted the general society.

But the original inhabitants of this town have still maintained their legacy of being farmers, agriculturalists and fishermen. These natives have remained in villages with a meagre standard of living. The Maharashtra state government has constantly helped this backward community with quality education, social and cultural uprise and various work scopes.

To help in achievement of this social goal, many non government organizations (NGO) have taken up voluntary association with government administration. They are working with the sole objective to serve the deprived and poor through proper guidance and service with the help of various social and welfare programs. This in turn is helping in the up rise of the entire society of Alibag.

Many NGOs have come up in Alibag with various programs towards the overall healthcare, education services, community development and numerous hindrances generally faced by the backward community. Volunteers from many parts of India join hands towards making the society of Alibag sustainable. Few of the renowned charitable institutions are:
